Millmerran pair of Alby and Maree Gibbs have scooped the pool following the 2024 Sporties Sapphire City Bowls Carnival played over the weekend.

The Gibbs teamed up with Inverell RSM’s Scott Hamilton to claim the Mixed triples win from Sporties team of Dave Morgan, Col Paton and Debbie Lehman and then backed up to take out the Sapphire Pairs Carnival played on Saturday and Sunday.

The Millmerran pair defeated Doug Newton and Adam Ross Inverell RSM with Equal 3rd place going to the Inverell Sporties teams of Sharon King and Debbie Lehman and brothers Lex and Corey Livermore.

The Gibbs also took out the Over 55s carnival played last Wednesday.

Despite a drop off in player numbers for this year’s event due to other bowls carnivals taking place, Bowls Co-ordinator Joe Bell says he was still happy with how the Carnival went.
