Members of the Inverell and District Family History Group have been busy researching several photos and original prints from the Devine Family collection that will be part of the Inverell Club’s Antique and Collectables Auction next month.
The History Group’s Cathy McLeod says they were invited to attend a pre-auction display last Friday evening featuring a collection of photos and negative plates by the late George Devine along with other photographers including Billington and Walter Syrett
Mrs McLeod says they managed to pick out a couple of photos and commenced research on them to see what they could find out.
She says despite these photos being sold; they won’t be lost to the Inverell community.
The Inverell Club’s Antique and Collectables Auction will be held on the 19th of October
