The Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) has once again earned the distinguished title of Employer of Choice [EOC®] in The Australian Business Awards 2024, marking its second consecutive year of recognition.

HNECC PHN has been celebrated as a leading organisation that harnesses the full potential of its workforce, exemplifying the characteristics of a well-managed, high-performing, and industry-leading organisation, offering an engaging and supportive environment for its employees.

To achieve this recognition, HNECC PHN has excelled across key areas such as Organisational Culture and Leadership, Employee Education, Training and Development, Employee Health, Safety and Satisfaction, Performance Management, and Recognition and Remuneration.

In addition, the PHN has been named as a finalist in several prestigious Employer of Choice categories by Business NSW:

  1. 2024 Business Hunter Awards
  2. 2024 Central Coast Business Awards
  3. 2024 New England North West Business Awards

Richard Nankervis, PHN Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Our organisation is dedicated to nurturing a culture that reflects our purpose, vision, and values. We emphasize the importance of our people and culture through long-term plans that support continuous development, growth, and evolution of our workforce. This commitment allows our team members to achieve their full potential. By building on our strong foundation in employee wellbeing, health, safety, and satisfaction, we have cultivated a thriving work environment where our employees can excel.”

Kirby Wall, the PHN’s Acting Executive Manager of People, Operations and Engagement, added, “We are incredibly proud of the PHN’s recognition as an Employer of Choice Finalist and Employer of Choice winner by the Australian Business Awards in 2024. Our People and Culture Team is dedicated to creating a values-driven organisation where employees are inspired by the meaningful work they do and the chance to collaborate with passionate colleagues who make a real difference in the community. It is a privilege to work for an organisation that genuinely prioritises its people and culture.”
