Community members with knowledge of Indigenous language are being invited to help inform the inclusion of Aboriginal language and storytelling into signage and wayfinding for the Moree Hospital Redevelopment.
Health Infrastructure Executive Director, Rural and Regional Amanda Bock says Gomeroi, Kamilaroi and Gamilaroi community members with knowledge of Indigenous language are being sought for the establishment of a Language Reference Group.
Ms Bock says as part of planning for the redevelopment, Aboriginal staff and the community recommended the inclusion of Gamilaraay language in wayfinding to create a more welcoming and culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers, staff and families.
