It’s Grand Final Day in the AFL Northwest competition tomorrow with the Inverell Saints striving to claim both the men’s and women’s premierships at Varley Oval.
The Saints Men’s team have been dominant all year only dropping one game this year, that to the Tamworth Swans, the team they’ll confront tomorrow in the Grand Final.
Coach Matt Harrison says despite not playing any footy for the past fortnight, his team will be ready for their clash with the Swans.
Meantime the Saints Women will be hoping to go one step better this year when they meet their arch-nemesis the Gunnedah Poochettes in the early Grand Final game.
The Saints have gone close on a couple of occasions to knocking over the Poochettes this season and will be endeavouring to inflict the visitors first loss of this season in the decider, a feat they achieved in 2022.
Saints Women’s coach Dallas Baldwin believes he has the team to win the premiership and having the home ground advantage will be a huge bonus.
