The Bushfire Danger Period has commenced today in the Northern Tablelands.
The Bushfire danger period has commenced for the Tenterfield, Glen Innes and Inverell Local Government Areas, meaning Fire Permits are now required.
The NSW Rural Fire Service Northern Tablelands Team advises residents to notify their neighbours and the NSW RFS at least 24hrs prior to lighting a fire by calling the number on the permit or by visiting the NSW RFS website, contact the Fire Control Centre on 6739 6900 to find out who the local Fire Permit Officer is, and remain vigilant and contact the local RFS or Triple zero if a grassfire is spotted.
They encourage the community to work together and stay safe this fire season.
