Man to Front Court on Charges of Break-In: Inverell

A man will front Court via video link in Armidale today facing numerous charges following an investigation into a break-in at Inverell last month.

30-year-old MATTHEW CHARLES BURNARD is facing numerous charges following an alleged break-in between 1pm Monday 24th and 12pm on Tuesday 25th of June at a Dog Trap Lane home where twelve firearms were reported stolen from the home

Burnard was arrested at a business in Uralla after a search warrant was executed at a home on Depot Road where its alleged police located and seized eight firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, firearm cleaning kits, and documentation.

He’s been charged with Enter dwelling with intent to steal, 12 counts of Steal firearm or imitation firearm, Acquire prohibited firearm-subject prohibition order, 12 counts of acquire firearm – subject to prohibition order, Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order.
