Inverell Hawks Men’s had a surprising win after upsetting top ranking team Bingara Bullets in Group 19 action over the weekend.
It was a high scoring affair at Varley Oval on Saturday, with the Hawks posting a 50-36 win over the Bullets, with Hawks President Ethan Anderson saying a finals berth is not yet ruled out.
In the other Men’s games, the Warialda Wombats thumped Narwan Eels 44-10 while the Moree Boomerangs managed to ward off the Walcha Roos 28-18.
In the U18s games, Warialda walked away from Narwan 38-20 while the Hawks weren’t quite as a fortunate as the seniors, going down to the Glen Innes Magpies 32-12.
It was Ladies Day on Saturday with all teams raising funds towards Breast Cancer, Bingara showing no mercy against the Hawks 54-0, Narwan held off against Warialda 24-16, the Boomerangs showing their strength against the Roos 42-0 and Glen Innes maintaining form winning against the Rams 44-2.
