A night of dazzle and spectacle was experienced by the many that attended the Stars of Inverell Cocktail Dance off held at the Inverell RSM Club on Saturday evening.
Six Stars took to the floor to dance their way through the night, battling it out for a place in one of the 2 categories, with Emi Campbell emerging as the victor taking out the People’s Choice Award, and Clint McSpedden winning the Judge’s Choice Category. A third category award was also presented to STA Fm’s own Gerry Taveira for raising the most funds out of the competitors, almost tripling his $3000 target with an impressive $8410.
Community Fundraising Coordinator at Cancer Council NSW Sarah Mayo-McCowen, paid tribute to both the stars and their dance partners, as well as announcing the total donations made during the 3 mth long event at over $50,000 towards the cause.
“Hours upon hours have gone into these dance routines, the stars and their partners have gone into so much effort and so much time and it couldn’t have come together without the talent of these dance partners. Between all the Stars, the dance partners and the entire Inverell Community’s efforts, we’ve raised over $54,000 tonight for Cancer Council, which is an incredible effort and something definitely worth dancing for.”
