A warning has been issued by the NSW Rural Fire Service Northern Tablelands Team in relation to storm activity in the region.
With storms forecast over the coming days, its important residents remain vigilant for signs of fire once the storms have passed.
In a social media post, the RFS state lightning strikes can ignite fires, sometimes hours or even days after the storm has moved through and while there have been no reported fires at this stage, they ask members of the community to keep an eye out for any signs of smoke or fire.
If you see an unattended fire, report it immediately by calling Triple Zero (000) as early reporting allows firefighters to respond quickly and helps minimise the risk of fires spreading.
