Commonwealth Bank have announced it will keep all 281 regional branches open through to at least December 2030, providing greater certainty for regional communities and businesses around access to local banking services.
The announcement comes alongside a $140 million investment in branch upgrades across Australia this financial year, focused on improving the customer experience through shorter wait times, better accessibility, upgraded technology and easier access to specialist and business bankers.
Angus Sullivan from the Commonwealth Bank says CommBank will also continue to provide widespread access to cash through more than 1,700 bank-owned ATMs and its regional branch network, while regional and remote communities will continue to be supported.
Mr Sullivan says regional branches still have a place in today’s banking world.
