Emergency services were called to the New England Highway, near the intersection of the Dibley Road at Glen Innes, after reports of a bus crash on Friday evening
About 7.30pm, Officers attached to New England Police District responded and discovered that the bus had left the roadway and the engine was alight.
All passengers were evacuated and NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished the fire.
The driver, a 69-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries and taken to hospital for further treatment and mandatory testing.
A female passenger was also treated for a suspected broken femur, before being airlifted to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in a stable condition.
Multiple other passengers were treated by paramedics for various minor injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.
