Battle on the Bank is growing, with nine young performers now registered to take to the stage for Inverell’s youth-led live music event on Friday, 25 September.
Organised by the Youth Think Tank Team (Y3T), Battle on the Bank will return to Campbell Park for its second year, bringing together emerging musicians aged between 12 and 24 for an evening of live music, entertainment and celebration.
This year’s event is already showing strong growth, with nine acts registered, including new faces joining the line-up, performers travelling from outside the Inverell Shire, and several acts returning after taking part in last year’s inaugural event.
Y3T member Savannah said it was exciting to see the event growing and to see performers returning for another year.
“It’s really exciting to see people coming back this year, but also to see new people putting their hand up and having a go,” Savannah said.
“Some of the performers from last year have come back as part of a band, and we’ve got soloists and a duo as well. It’s great to see young people supporting each other and getting up on stage.”
The event will also feature two special guest performers.
Youth DJ Skage will travel from Walgett to keep the crowd entertained throughout the evening, bringing his energy and DJ skills to the Campbell Park stage.
Last year’s Battle on the Bank winner, Peyton Childs, will also return as a special guest performer.
After taking out first place in the inaugural Battle on the Bank in 2025, Peyton will perform for the crowd this year rather than compete, showcasing a mix of audience favourites and original music.
Battle on the Bank was first held in 2025 following a youth-led survey asking young people across the Inverell Shire what they wanted to see more of in their community. Live music and performance opportunities emerged as a clear priority.
Now in its second year, the event is demonstrating the impact of giving young people the opportunity to identify what matters to them and then take an active role in making it happen.
Battle on the Bank is run by the Youth Think Tank Team (Y3T) and funded by Sapphire Wind Farm and Ladybug Projects.
With performer registrations still open, young people aged 12 to 24 have until Friday, 11 September to register.
The community is invited to come along on the night, enjoy an evening of live music and entertainment, and support the young performers taking to the stage.
