Young musicians from across the region are already signing up to take part in Battle on the Bank, with four acts now registered for an evening of live music, entertainment and celebration.
The youth-led live music event, organised by the volunteer Youth Think Tank Team (Y3T), will bring together emerging performers on Friday, 25 September 2026 at Campbell Park, Inverell.
With registrations continuing to come in, young people aged 12 to 24 are encouraged to register by Friday 11 September for the opportunity to perform live and compete for prize money, with $400 for first place, $200 for second and $100 for third.
Y3T organising committee member Savannah said the committee had been working hard to encourage young people to get involved and ensure food trucks will provide plenty of options for the audience.
“After the success of last year, we wanted to run the event again, as it brings everyone together and gives young people something that’s actually for us”.
The event will also feature a special performance from last year’s Battle on the Bank winner, Peyton Childs. Rather than competing this year, Peyton will return to the stage as a feature artist, performing audience favourites alongside some of his original music.
Youth DJ Skage will also be travelling from Walgett to get the crowd pumping and keep the energy high throughout the evening.
Battle on the Bank was first held in 2025 following a youth-led survey that asked young people across the Inverell Shire what they wanted to see more of in their community. Live music and performance opportunities emerged as a clear priority.
The inaugural event featured emerging Moree-based artist Kyla Belle alongside seven young performers, with Peyton Childs taking out first place.
Now in its second year, Battle on the Bank continues to give young people the opportunity to showcase their talents, build confidence and have their achievements celebrated.
The community is invited to come along, enjoy an evening of live entertainment and great food, and support the region’s next generation of musicians and performers.
Performer registrations remain open for young people aged 12 to 24 until 11 September 2026. Whether it’s their first time performing in front of an audience or they are already comfortable on stage, young people from across the region are encouraged to register and have a go.
