Two vehicles were riffled through by thieves between Thursday night and Friday night in Jack St in Inverell and on both occasions the vehicles were not locked by their owners.
Motorists are warned to lock their vehicles when their left unattended.
Meantime, a 32-year-old learner driver was detected by police about on Friday afternoon on Stephen St not accompanied by a licenced driver.
The vehicle was also found to have cancelled registration and was being driven in contravention of a major defect notice.
The man was issued a 3 infringement notices totalling in excess of $2000 and had his driving privileges also suspended on the spot.
