An Inverell farming operation have taken on the world and come away with several victories at the World Charolais Congress at the Brisbane Ekka on Saturday.
David Whitechurch from 4 Ways Charolais entered their 3-year-old female cow 4 Ways Koko and claimed her Class division, Senior Champion Female and the Champion of Champion Female for the whole show.
Mr Whitechurch says the cow was then paired with the bull to contest against other breeds and won the Champion of Champions Breed Pair as well as the People’s Choice award.
He says the result means their breeding program is what the industry is wanting and their cow is a prime example of that.
The World Charolais Congress is one of the largest assemblies of Charolais stud beef ever seen in Australia as part of the Ekka Charolais feature show, boasting 280 entries coming from Mexico, Canada, the United States, France, Ireland, Hungary, Finland and Estonia.
