The Inverell Highlanders season is over after they were defeated by the Narrabri Blue Boars 48-33 in the Minor Semi Final in the Central North Rugby Union competition on Saturday.
1st grade coach Gemma Noller say her team gave their all, but Narrabri defensively were very good at the breakdown, and in the end, was probably the difference
Noller says they were unable to score points and their defence close to the line wasn’t good enough adding it was tough to build momentum in the first half.
She says it’s always disappointing to lose a final, but overall it was a positive season and one the group should be proud of adding they’ve got plenty to build on for next season.
It was not all bad news for the Highlanders as their Women’s team knocked the Moree Bulls out of the competition with a 29-12 victory.
They will now prepare for a preliminary final on Saturday 22nd of August against the loser of this weekend’s major semi-final between the Narrabri Blue Boars and Pirates.
