Inverell Shire Council are hosting a photography competition, and they want you to submit your photo of ‘What makes Inverell your home’ – please submit your entry with 25 words or less telling us why!
The 2026 photography competition is free to enter.
Entry into the competition is open to residents of Inverell Shire Council Local Government Area only.
The competition is divided into three (3) categories:
Junior category entrants must be aged 12 years and under.
Youth category entrants must be aged 13 years to 17 years only.
Open category entrants must be over the age of 18 years.
You can submit one entry in your category to the 2026 competition. One single entry can have a maximum of two (2) photographs. If multiple entries are submitted, the first entry received will be eligible for consideration.
Your photograph must:
Be original photograph(s) taken by the entrant;
Have been taken in the Inverell Shire Local Government Area;
Be created with a camera (including camera phone);
Not use any artificially generated images or elements (including generative fill in post-production; and not have been created in whole or in part using any generative artificial intelligence.
Images must not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.

The 2026 competition will commence on Tuesday, 4th August 2026 at 9:00am AEST and will conclude on Sunday, 9th August 2026 at 3:59pm AEST. Late, incomplete or non-compliant entries will not be accepted.
