The Inverell Highlanders have had a confidence building 43-26 win over the Gunnedah Red Devils on Saturday ahead of this weekend’s Central North knockout semi-final.
1st grade coach Gemma Noller says it was a solid effort from her team as they worked through some of their focus areas adding she’s very excited about this weekend’s minor semi-final against the Blue Boars at Narrabri.
She’s expecting four players to return from injury to strengthen the Highlanders line-up adding it will be a more settled team this weekend.
In other weekend results, Moree cemented the minor premiers after their 19-17 victory over the Quirindi Lions – the win giving the Moree Bulls hosting rights of the major semi final on Saturday 15th of August while the Narrabri Blue Boars sent Pirates packing from this year’s competition with a 67-19 thumping.
Inverell Highlanders Reserve grade went down 43-31 to Gunnedah to finish their season while the women scored an impressive 60-7 win to qualify for finals and will play Moree Bulls in a knockout semi-final this weekend.
