The Inverell Saints will have another week off in the AFL Northwest competition with Round 13 action seeing the local derby in Tamworth between the Kangaroos and the Swans while the New England Nomads host the Gunnedah Bulldogs at Bellevue Oval in Armidale
Meantime several Saints players were involved in last weekend’s Tri-Series in Coffs Harbour with the men’s Blue Heelers Northwest team winning against AFL Central West Eagles but losing to the North Coast Force
Saints captain Ryan Lewis, Tom McKendrick and George Lithgow all performed well with Lithgow named the Best Player for the Northwest Blue Heelers men’s side.
The Women’s team, which has Saints captain Claire McCosker and speedster Sarah Drew, lost both their games but were highly competitive.
The Saints now head into a bye this weekend, followed by the scheduled wet weather catch-up round next weekend and will play their next game against Gunnedah at Wolseley Oval on August 8th.
