New England’s Labor candidate Laura Hughes is in Adelaide representing the region at the Australian Labor Party’s 50th National Conference.
National Conference is Labor’s highest decision-making forum, where representatives from across Australia come together to debate the National Platform, consider organisational matters and help shape the Party’s future direction.
Ms Hughes says it’s both a privilege and a responsibility to represent New England in these discussions adding she’s committed to ensuring the opportunities and challenges facing rural and regional communities are heard when Labor’s future policies are being shaped.
She says the National Conference is also an important opportunity to speak directly with federal and state ministers, MPs and senior party representatives about the issues affecting our region stressing she intends to use that opportunity to raise the priorities that matter to New England, strengthen relationships and ensure regional communities remain part of Labor’s national conversations.
