The Inverell Saints have registered a 10-goal win over the New England Nomads at Varley Oval on Saturday in AFL Northwest Round 10 results but may have come at a price.
Missing 8 players due to work, suspension and personal commitments, the Saints lost midfielder Riley Sandral to a serious shoulder injury during the 17.12.114 to 8.6.54 victory.
Captain Ryan Lewis starred for the Saints booting 7 goals and will welcome back several players for this weekend’s Kevin Pay Memorial game against the Tamworth Swans at Varley Oval.
In the other game, the Tamworth Kangaroos upset competition leaders the Gunnedah Bulldogs to win 16.16.112 to 13.7.85.
Meantime the Inverell Saints Women had a comfortable 108-point win over the New England Nomads.
Forwards Claire McCosker and Katrina Doak booted 6 goals a piece in the 19.13.127 to 2.7.19 win.
