A house in Ferguson Street in Glen Innes has been destroyed following a fire on Sunday night
Just before 9:00pm, firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW, Glen Innes , along with NSW Police and NSW Ambulance, responded to reports of a house fire, and on arrival, were confronted by a small single-storey dwelling that was fully ablaze.
While the property was believed to be vacant, neighbours reported that squatters had occasionally been seen residing at the address with firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus immediately commencing an offensive fire attack while simultaneously conducting a thorough search of the structure, later confirming that no occupants were inside
The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of crews arriving on scene.
Firefighters remained on scene for approximately two hours extinguishing hot spots and ensuring the fire was fully extinguished.
