Saints Suffer Losses in Tamworth

by | May 4, 2026 | Sport

The Inverell Saints had a miserable day at the office in Tamworth, registering two losses against the Tamworth Kangaroos at No1 Oval in Round 3 of the AFL Northwest competition.

Saints Men’s Coach Hayden Chappel says his side performed admirably but ultimately it was the more experienced Roos outfit that scored a 15.15.105 to 12.11.83 victory.

5 goals from Brady Mather was not enough for the Saints in the 22-point loss.

Meantime the inexperienced Saints Women were totally outclassed in their match, going down to the Kangaroos 12.12.84 to 4.3.27.

The game was all but decided at halftime with the Roos leading at the main break by 50 points.

In the other games played in Gunnedah, the home sides went down to the Tamworth Swans 11.10.76 to 8.8.56 while the Poochettes scored a 55 point win over the Swans, winning 10.10.70 to 2.3.15
