Inverell Hawks Coach Jamie McCormack says he’s happy to get away with the two points after lacklustre 18-8 win over the Glen Innes Magpies on Saturday in Group 19 Anzac Day matches played on Saturday.
McCormack says their defence was very good but their attack and discipline with the ball was disappointing adding it’s something they’ll need to improve on ahead of this weekend’s grand final re-match with Tingha Tigers.
In other Round 3 results, Tingha managed to get over the line in a close tussle against the Moree Boomerangs winning 20-16 while Guyra were too strong for the Warialda Wombats, 54-14.
One game in Reserve grade saw Guyra defeat Warialda 14-4 while in Ladies League tag Inverell held on to beat Glen Innes 6-4 while Warialda got the biscuits over Guyra 24-20.
