The corner of Byron and Campbell streets in Inverell has been cornered off after the Empire Hotel sustained damage after being struck by a vehicle yesterday.
It’s believed the vehicle accidentally backed into a supporting post of the premises resulting in damage to the balcony with signage and debris falling onto the footpath.
Inverell Shire council advise that the footpath surrounding the Empire Hotel is closed due to the damage and an alternate access to and from Campbell St and Byron St is available via Campbell Lane.
