New England MP Barnaby Joyce has warned that Australia could be in a more dire predicament it finds itself now with petrol if China makes a move to take back Taiwan next year.
Speaking on STA FM yesterday, Mr Joyce believes this crisis will pale into insignificance to the current middle east crisis adding if the Taiwan/China war broke out, it’s not only going to stop the supply of petrol but also the flow of any product imported into Australia.
Mr Joyce says he’s been warning of the possible hostilities occurring over China’s takeover of Taiwan and nobody’s listening, stressing at present, we’re getting fuel out from Singapore but warned if war was to break out between China and Taiwan, access to Singapore would be shut.
He says the warning is real and could be detrimental to Australia adding the supply of petrol, iron ore, coal, food items required to process fuel and communication channels could be shut.
