Campbell and Freebairn Rebels have qualified for this Saturday’s Inverell Cricket Competition’s Grand Final after knocking over Glen Innes in a nailbiter Preliminary Final at Varley Oval on Saturday.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Glen Innes’ recent batting problems continued as they were dismissed for 95 in the 38th over wit Zak Wade picking up 3 wickets while Brendon Reynolds and Blake Uberagang collect 2 a pice.
In reply, the Rebels lost regular wickets to be at one stage 8/80 before Wade steered the Rebels to a 1 wicket victory.
Perry Stapleton and Kayne Campbell collected 3 wickets each but it was not enough top guide Glen Innes to their first Grand final appearance.
Rebels will now face Staggy Creek in Saturdays Grand Final with Staggy looking for back-to back titles.
