Lock Your Homes and Vehicles – Inverell Police Warning

by | Feb 12, 2026 | Police News

Inverell police are again reminding residents to secure their homes and vehicles when unattended.

It follows a break-in at a house on Old Bundarra Rd last month involving two unknown people.

The resident of the house was awoken by a torch light with the bandits leaving without taking any items.

Inspector of Inverell Police Blake Keating says Inverell has seen its fair share of property crime since late December, but in almost every case , local police have arrested and charged the offenders.

Inspector Keating says as usual, the crimes are being committed by a very small percentage of the ‘community’ – rather than widespread criminal behaviour.

He says in his experience, rarely are premises broken into when the yard is secured and patrolled by large dogs but admits dogs aren’t for everyone.
