More upheaval within the federal Nationals with news that Liberal National Party MP Colin Boyce is set to challenge David Littleproud for the party leadership on Monday
The news comes just a week after the Nationals chose to break up the Coalition, the second time in nine months, and the departure of high profile New England MP Barnaby Joyce who defected to One Nation in December.
Speaking to Sky News, Boyce criticised Littleproud’s handling of the split, saying he had many within the party upset with his decision and warned the Nationals faced electoral disaster if they did not reunify the Coalition before the next election.
Mr Boyce says if he wins the challenge, he will ensure the Coalition is re-established.
