Following the split of the federal coalition yesterday, New England MP Barnaby Joyce has criticised National Leader David Littleproud for abstaining in the hate laws vote on Tuesday.
The Nationals abstained from voting in the lower house and opposed the bill when it reached the Senate with the hate speech bill passing in the lower house by 116 votes to seven.
Mr Joyce says Australians can see through people who aren’t up front with them, adding this is being seen through the latest polling which has seen One Nation surge in approval.
Speaking on STA FM earlier this week, says Mr Littelproud’s absence from the vote is confusing adding he says one thing and does another, stressing this was one of the reasons why he defected to One Nation
