Hundreds of junior swimmers are heading to Inverell for the 2026 NSW Country Regional Swimming Championships to be held at the new Aquatic Centre this weekend
Swimming NSW CEO Kirsten Thomson Olly says close to 300 families from as far as Maclean and Port Stevens will make Inverell home over the weekend adding the meet is a great opportunity for grassroots competition for junior swimmers from across the state.
Ms Olly Thomson says one of their objectives when determining locations for the Championships is to work with local councils who are investing in swim facilities and provide them with opportunities to utilize the facilities and host state-level events adding the new Inverell Aquatic Centre is now the benchmark for regional facilities in NSW.
She says Inverell Swimming Club will be well represented over the weekend with over 60 local competitors
