A woman was flown out of Inverell on Tuesday afternoon after being bitten by a snake.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 4:30pm on an urgent inter-hospital transfer from Inverell to Tamworth Base Hospital.
A woman in her 30s was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Tamworth.
In case of a snake bite, it is crucial to act quickly and follow the correct first aid steps including keeping the patient clam, apply pressure immobilisation, immobilise the limb, seek medical attention and don’t wash the bite area
