Glen Innes have inflicted Staggy Creek’s first loss of the season with a 5 wicket win at King George Oval on Saturday in Round 7 action of the Inverell Cricket competition.
Batting first, Staggy amassed 6/143 from their 40 overs with Jackson Binne top scoring with 57 and in reply, Glen Innes chased down the target, scoring 5/149 with Perry Stapleton with an unbeaten 45 and Tom Benton with 44 guiding their to victory.
The win leapfrogs Glen Innes into the top spot on the ladder.
Meantime Delungra have scored their first win of the season with an exciting 1 wicket win over Campbell & Freebairn Rebels at Varley Oval.
Delungra’s Matt Ehsman claimed 4/36 to restrict Rebels to 162 and in reply, Delungra managed to get over the line, scoring 9/163.
Rebels bowler Lachlan Savage almost bowled his team to victory with an impressive 4/19.
