A local pharmacist is celebrating a special milestone today as they reach 30 years of serving the Inverell and district.
Brendan Campbell purchased Pat O’Brien’s share of Mitchell, O’Brien & O’Meara on this day in 1995 and went into partnership with D’Arcy O’Meara.
Mr Campbell was 22 years old at the time and had been registered as a pharmacist for 3 weeks with the business employing less than 10 people.
Now trading as Campbell and Freebairn Chemist, Mr Campbell now has 2 business partners and nearly 40 staff.
He says many changes have occurred over the years including new medications, technology and government policies but stressed the one constant has been Inverell being a great town to serve and he’s very grateful to all the people who have worked for him and the customers who have supported him and the business over the years.
