A 16-year-old learner driver has had his licence suspended after a random breath test on Sunday morning.
About 2:00am Sunday 23/11/2025 Police stopped a Toyota Hilux on Runnymede Drive, Inverell for the purpose of a random breath test.
The driver was identified as a 16-year-old male learner driver. The vehicle contained a passenger, however no licenced driver. Police conducted a roadside breath test which returned positive reading.
The driver was arrested and subjected to a secondary test at Inverell Police Station which returned a reading in the Mid-Range.
The driver’s licence was suspended, and he was issued a Court Attendance Notice for the offences Drive with middle range PCA and Learner not accompanied by driver/police officer/tester to appear at Inverell Local Court 18/12/2025.
