MacIntyre High School will replace floor tiles containing bonded asbestos across multiple rooms and classrooms from tomorrow.
Four science rooms and 2 staff rooms in Building C and a staffroom in Building J will have work commence tomorrow and Sunday while further work in rooms in Building F, G, H and J will takes place in December while more floor tile replacement in rooms in Building A is scheduled in January.
The school advises all work involving asbestos-containing materials will take place outside school hours between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 1pm Saturdays in line with NSW Environment Protection Authority guidelines.
NSW Health explains the living or working with asbestos, or just being around it, is low risk to health as long as the asbestos is in good condition or not damaged.
