Northern Tablelands MP Brendan Moylan has labelled the whole planning process of the New England Renewable Energy Zone a complete dog’s breakfast and a mess.
It follows EnergyCo’s plan to re-route the transmission corridor from Bayswater Power Station at Muswellbrook to Walcha, with Mr Moylan saying this new route will now impact landowners through the Hunter, Upper Hunter, and New England who he says EnergyCo have failed to properly engage with.
Mr Moylan says this adopted route was subjected to a study 12 months ago, costing the government millions of dollars, and was determined to be not suitable and completely illogical.
He says questions need to be asked of EnergyCo.
