Chief Executive Officer of Northern Inland Academy of Sport Shona Eichorn has confirmed that the NIAS Board has voted to join the united Regional Academies of Sport after 33 years in operation.
This move is expected to provide enhanced opportunities moving forward for all stakeholders, noting that with this significant change comes new governance, brand and staffing structure.
Despite the shift to a centralised model, NIAS will retain its regional identity and continue to operate locally as offices, programs while community engagement to remain rooted in each region.
Regional Academies of Sport CEO Brett O’Farrell says this model allows them to pool resources and expertise while maintaining the local spirit that defines each Academy adding the move is about building a stronger, more connected future for their athletes, coaches, and communities
