Saints Aim High for Premiership Glory

by | Sep 19, 2025 | Sport | 0 comments

Inverell Saints can create club history tomorrow when their men’s teams strive for a hattrick of AFL Northwest premierships while its Women’s side aims for back-to-back premierships at Varley Oval tomorrow.

The Men’s team will meet the Tamworth Swans for the third successive year in an AFL Northwest Grand Final while it’ll be the 4th time the Saints Women face their arch-rival the Gunnedah Poochettes in a premiership decider.

Men’s coach Matt Harrison says they’ll need to put together a four-quarter effort against the Swans tomorrow if they’re a chance to make history and will be wary of their opposition who put up a mighty effort against the Saints a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Saints Women’s Coach Georgia Chappel says her team will be primed for a big game but admits the Poochettes are always tough opposition adding her team will need to earn the premiership flag.

Matches kick off at 12 noon with the Women’s Grand Final followed by the men’s decider at 2:15pm.
