Inverell trainer Todd Payne has secured a spot for his horse Lisztomania in the $2 million the Kosciusko at Randwick on Saturday October 18th.
Blake Palmer from Narrabri won a slot for the big race and offered Walcha owner Mark Taylor the slot for Lisztomania and will be splitting the prizemoney 50/50
Payne says Lisztomania will have a barrier trial at Newcastle on September 24 before The Kosciuszko, adding the horse won’t be pushed out, to ensure he keeps his explosiveness for the day that matters.
He says Lisztomania, a seven-year-old gelding that remains lightly raced having had just 21 career starts for three wins and 12 placings, goes best over 1200 metres adding he’s finished top two in all his races at Randwick.
The $2 million The Kosciuszko will be run over 1200 metres at Randwick on Everest Day on Saturday October 18.
