New England MP Barnaby Joyce’s Bill to repeal the government’s net zero emissions commitment is set to be debated in this session of Parliament which returned yesterday.
Mr Joyce introduced the bill in July that would scrap a number of laws related to climate change, which is expected to see MP’s debate the topic.
ABC News understands several of Mr Joyce’s colleagues are expected to speak in support of it or vote in favour of it when the opportunity comes.
It follows an overwhelming vote over the weekend at the QLD Liberal National Party Conference to dump the party’s commitment to pursue net zero emission by 2050.
