The Notice of Casual Vacancy for the Glen Innes Severn Council countback election is now live on the NSW Electoral Commission’s website.
This countback election is required to fill one casual vacancy on Council, following the resignation of Councillor Troy Arandale in July.
After last September’s ordinary election, Council resolved at its first meeting to use the countback process to fill any vacancies.
Under this process, the NSW Electoral Commission uses ballot papers from the last ordinary election to determine which unelected candidate is next eligible for the position.
Candidate applications are currently opened and will close at 12 noon Thursday, 28 Augus with the countback election to be held at 10am on Tuesday, 2nd of September.
