by | Jul 28, 2025 | Sport | 0 comments

The Inverell Hawks have smashed the Boomerangs 40-16 in wet and fiery conditions in Moree in Group 19 weekend action.

The Hawks got out to at half time before the game deteriorated in the 2nd half with the penalty count rising, resulting in the match being called off 10 minutes early.

Inverell Hawks 1st grade coach Jamie McCormack says he was very proud of his team and the way they handled the situation.

Meantime the Warialda Wombats have dealt the Glen Innes Magpies a savage finals blow after recording a 28-18 win while yesterday in the mud and rain at Uralla, the home side kept their finals hopes alive with a 28-12 win over the Guyra Super spuds.

Matches between Narwan and Tingha were abandoned in Armidale due to the wet conditions.

In Ladies League tag, Glen Innes were too good for Warialda winning 34-6 and Guyra belted Uralla 60-0.
