Inverell Shire Council has been successful in gaining funding from the NSW Government to participate in the active leak detection project.
Commencing today, leak detection contractors, using leak detection equipment, will be checking Council’s water network to identify any hidden leaks within the network.
The Project is part of the NSW Government’s $15.5 million Regional Leakage Reduction Program and to date, over 21,000 kilometres of water mains have been surveyed, over 3,500 leaks detected, and 7,650ML/year of water leaks repaired by regional Councils.
