Nominations for the 19th annual Nanga Mai Awards are now open.
The Nanga Mai Awards acknowledge and celebrate outstanding achievements in Aboriginal education across NSW public schools.
Educators, students, and community members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals and initiatives that have made significant contributions to Aboriginal education and cultural awareness, with NSW Department of Education Secretary Murat Dizdar saying the awards recognise talented students and staff, who worked tirelessly for their schools and communities.
Mr Dizdar says these awards continue to show that strong community partnerships, dedicated staff and targeted, culturally appropriate programs are integral to the success and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in NSW public schools.
The 2024 categories include student awards, staff awards and school and community awards, with nominations for the 19th Nanga Mai Awards available via the nsw education website; submissions close Friday 16th August.
