Meter Reading Begins Today in Bundarra & Uralla

by | Nov 5, 2025 | Local Government, Media Release | 0 comments

Water meter readings for Uralla and Bundarra will commence today (Wednesday 5th November) and to ensure an accurate and efficient reading, Uralla Shire Council are asking residents for their cooperation by helping them easily and safely access meters.

In addition to regular meter readings, Council is undertaking a GPS tagging survey of all water meters in Uralla. This project will improve the accuracy of our infrastructure maps and help us improve the way we maintain and service the Uralla water network. The survey will be conducted by Aqua Analytics, a specialist contractor engaged by Council.

What you can do to assist:

– Clear the area around your water meter – trim overgrown vegetation, remove debris, and ensure it’s free from dirt or concrete. This improves accessibility and reduces the risk of encountering snakes or spiders.

– Keep gates unlocked during business hours so our staff or contractors can access your property.

– Secure or restrain dogs to avoid any safety concerns.

Having a clear path to your meter ensures a smooth reading process and helps us avoid return visits, which may cause delays in your water billing.

Safety Reminder: Aggressive dogs, locked gates, or blocked meters (e.g., covered by dirt, grass, or concrete) may prevent us from reading your meter. If we are unable to access your meter, we will leave a notice with the reason and return date.
