Inverell Shire Council has approved the allocation of $1,249,986 to Stage 2 of the MR187 โGraman Northโ Yetman Rd realignment and pavement rehabilitation project, continuing its commitment to improving rural road infrastructure across the region.
The funding comprises:
โข $544,993 from the Regional Emergency Road Repair Fund (RERRF)
โข $544,993 from the 2025/2026 Block Grant
โข $160,000 from the Block Grant Supplementary Program (3×4)
This investment follows the March 2025 allocation of $1,636,362 to Stage 1 of the project, which was identified as a high priority under Councilโs Rural Sealed Roads โ Rehabilitation Program 2020-2024.
With the latest funding, the total project budget now stands at $2,886,348, enabling the completion of both Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 3 is planned for the 2026/2027 financial year, subject to future budget considerations.
Councilโs decision to divide the project into three stages reflects a strategic approach to managing limited road rehabilitation funds, while maintaining heavy patching and bitumen maintenance across the broader network.
